Firstly, we need to remind you that Jackie Skelly Fitness has a Membership Contract with a minimum term of either 4 months (short term membership) or 12 months.

We value our members, and once you become a member we encourage you to participate in our "Results 4 Life" FREE Personal Training Program, and obtain good value from your membership.

3 FREE Personal training sessions within first 6 weeks with a monthly ongoing personal training and review session every month!

We want to get to know what makes you special and what make you tick by taking our time to get to know you and make sure we create a unique programme that WORKS FOR YOU!

Our Commitment to you!
  • To provide you with ongoing support, encouragement and friendliness.
  • To listen to your needs and what you want to achieve.

  • To design a programme suited to you and your lifestyle, timeframe, ability and goals.

What you need to do for you!
  • Make four appointments and keep them to meet with your trainer four times in the first month.
  • Attend the Gym at least twice per week to develop good habits.
  • Take your card out each visit to monitor progress.
  • Try classes or group exercise courses for variety.
  • Help us to help you! Tell us what you enjoy or don't enjoy.
  • When you have completed your first month, book an appointment with your trainer for your programme update.
  • Repeat this every four weeks.

Research shows that the first 3 months of membership are crucial for establishing habit. That's why we help you to stay motivated by texting you once a month for the first three months to congratulate you if you are doing well and to give you a gentle push in the right direction if you have not been in.

Every time you check in at reception using your membership card you are clocking up gym miles. Register for this loyalty reward scheme and we notify you by text message every month how many miles you have accumulated and if you have reached a reward level when you can collect prizes for Just going to the Gym!!

We recommend that your book in for your 1st and 2nd personal training session on the day you join up and then book the 3rd session with your trainer on your first appointment.

We understand that sticking to a regular exercise programme requires dedication and motivation so please find below some useful tips to ensure you get the most from your membership:

  1. Have set goals
  2. Tell us your likes and dislikes and we will make sure that the programme we set is one that you enjoy!
  3. Have a set realistic timeframe to achieve goals
  4. Train at least twice per week
  5. Have set training days and times to visit the gym
  6. Keep your training times and days every week to create a habit
  7. Set these times around your lifestyle so you can stick to the habit
  8. Change your exercise programme every 4 to 6 weeks to challenge yourself and increase the exercise benefits
  9. Try group exercise classes to keep motivated and to add versatility to your programme.
  10. Get a training partner to keep you motivated and enjoy some healthy competition.
  11. Congratulate yourself when you do well and enjoy the endorphins that your body releases when you exercise

When my son Patrick approached me and told me that he wanted to join a gym I was wasn’t that enthusiastic about the idea. My concern was that at just 16 years of age, was Patrick to young to be doing a gym program, and more specifically was he to young to be doing any form of weight training? Patrick informed me that apparently, some of his friends from his Rugby team had also joined Jackie Skelly Fitness in Greystones so they could do some gym work that would help them with their rugby game.

Before I made my final decision I decided to drop down to the Club & talk to one of the Managers. I made my appointment over the phone and meet with Dave the Assistant Manager at the Club later that week. On the day of the appointment, Dave gave the reassurance I needed. He explained that if Patrick joined he would be enrolled onto the Results 4 Life Personal Training Plan and that his program would be designed and supervised by one of the Personal Training staff at the Club. In fact; whilst looking around the Club, I was further reassured to see plenty of other teenagers working out in the gym. To Patrick’s delight I bought the membership for him that day

I am delighted to report that three months later Patrick is going to the gym three to four times every week with his friends. Even his swimming has improved. When the staff at Ballsbridge asked me to do a member testimonial I said yes, simply because I felt I owed them! I had tried gyms before, two times to be precise, namely LA Fitness & another corporate gym arranged through work. I had never reached my goals. I have always battled with my weight and had nearly resigned myself to the fact that maybe I was meant to be like this. But it always made me feel unhappy & I never felt comfortable with myself.

In September 2007 I moved to Ireland to start a new job. We moved into the Ballsbridge area. While discovering the area one Saturday morning, I happened to walk into Jackie Skelly Fitness Ballsbridge, by accident!! >From the off it was something different. While giving me a look around the Club, Sean from membership introduced me to Ciara & told me if I came on board she would be my personal trainer. What’s more, Ciara told me I could get results I wanted in just 8 weeks. The following Tuesday I was back at the Club having my first Personal Training session with Ciara. By Christmas I’d shed 19 lbs and lost 2 ½ inches off my waist. What’s more the confidence I had lost due to my weight problem, was coming back!

My success story is very simple; I attend the Club 2 – 3 times a week. Each time I go, I do the programme designed by Ciara for me which takes me approx 35 minutes to complete. I’ve actually started to enjoy my workout! What makes the Jackie Skelly Fitness experience different are the staff, I feel like they really do care! Yes the Club is great too, but if I miss a workout I feel like I’m not just letting myself down, I feel like I’m letting Ciara down as-well. Since my early teens I have been a gym goer. That was until I got married, and subsequently fell pregnant with my first child. I kept exercising right up to six months into the pregnancy and in March 2007 gave birth to my first child.

I returned to my old gym, Westwood in Clontarf in August 2007, determined to get my shape back. But no matter how hard I tried, I just wasn’t making the progress I wanted, in fact I felt I wasn’t making any progress at all. Then a friend of mine suggested personal training.
